The DXF data format is used for engineering and architectural drawings. DXF allows importing, exporting, editing and modifying drawings, and in some cases allows defining new rendering capabilities. Unlike DWG, DXF is more structured and organized.

DXF files can also be used to create other types of drawings.

A DXF file is structured as a collection of objects, lines, arcs, text strings and other features. An object is a drawing element that can be translated into an object-oriented language or a code line in AutoLISP. To explore the application of a simple 3-D static head model (S-SHM) to the evaluation of skull impact injuries. A total of 31 patients with skull impact injuries were enrolled. The injuries were caused by either traffic accident or falls. The maximum dimension (L), diameter (D) and depth (H) of the wound were recorded. The relationship between these parameters and skull fracture or concussion was studied. The total rate of skull fracture was 40.9% (13/31). The mean L, D and H were (12.6 ± 4.3) cm, (4.8 ± 1.7) cm and (5.6 ± 3.7) cm, respectively. The rates of skull fracture, concussion and mixed brain injuries were 36.4% (11/30), 63.3% (19/30) and 3.3% (1/30), respectively. Compared with patients with skull fracture, the mean values of L, D and H of those with concussion were (11.2 ± 2.9) cm, (5.0 ± 1.3) cm and (4.4 ± 2.4) cm, respectively.
